Andrew Shashy
Andrew Shashy is a lead meteorologist with over 25 years of experience at the National Weather Service in Jacksonville with previous roles at the National Hurricane Center in Miami and the Ocean Prediction Center in Maryland. Throughout his career, he has forecasted and analyzed day-to-day weather, as well as high-impact weather events, including severe weather outbreaks and major hurricanes such as Matthew, Irma, and Michael. He developed an early passion for meteorology and earned his degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee. Outside of work, he enjoys gardening, fishing, swimming, visiting the beach, and spending time with family.
