Education Officer

Mike currently serves as the Education Officer and a Classroom Instructor for America’s Boating Club – Golden Isles, and is widely regarded as the backbone of the squadron’s educational program. A member of America’s Boating Club for more than thirty seven years, he is known for his unwavering commitment to boating education, safety, and student success.

Mike is a two-time recipient of the prestigious Charles F. Chapman Award for Excellence in Teaching, awarded by America’s Boating Club. The award recognizes instructors who demonstrate exceptional teaching skill, dedication, and impact — qualities Mike exemplifies in every class he teaches.

Mike's teaching style is hands-on, practical, and engaging. He’s well known for using props such as VHF radios, model boats, and carefully constructed knot-tying stations to bring concepts to life and ensure students truly understand what they’re learning.
